Saraswati Pujan

Shree Krishna Janmashtami Maha Puja
"Janmashtami is the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The night Vishnu took human form to end the rule of the tyrant Kansa. Tradition holds that Krishna was born in a prison cell in Mathura to Devaki and Vasudev, on the eighth lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. The chains fell open. The doors opened by themselves. Vasudev carried the infant across the flooded Yamuna to safety. The whole cosmos held its breath for this child's arrival. Devotees stay awake through the night, chanting his name, until the moment of his birth at midnight."
Rigveda Yajna
"The Rigveda is the oldest scripture in the Hindu tradition. The first of the four Vedas. Composed thousands of years ago, it contains over a thousand hymns dedicated to the gods, with the largest number addressed to Indra (the king of the gods) and Agni (the sacred fire). The Rigveda Yajna is the fire ritual built around these original hymns. It is one of the most powerful and most ancient yajnas in existence. To have it performed is to participate in the same tradition that the earliest sages of India established."
Special Maha Rudra Pujan and Yajna
"Maha Rudra is one of the highest forms of Shiva worship in the entire Vedic tradition. It involves the chanting of the Sri Rudram one hundred and twenty-one times. Eleven rounds of Rudram form one Laghu Rudra. Eleven Laghu Rudras together form one Maha Rudra. The power compounds at every level. This is the puja chosen when a community, a region, or a family needs Shiva's grace at the largest possible scale. It is also one of the most powerful pujas for rain, harvest, and the protection of crops."
Matangi Puja and Yajna
"Matangi Mata is the ninth of the ten Mahavidyas. She is the Tantric form of Saraswati Mata. The goddess of knowledge, music, speech, and the arts in their deepest expression. Where ordinary Saraswati blesses students and artists, Matangi blesses those who seek mastery. She gives command over speech, command over learning, command over the inner voice that turns thought into truth. Her devotees include scholars, writers, musicians, artists, and anyone whose work depends on the power of expression."
Hanuman Chalisa Path
"The Hanuman Chalisa is the most recited prayer in all of Hindu tradition. Forty verses written by Tulsidas in Awadhi, it tells the story of Hanuman's strength, his devotion to Ram, and his ability to lift any difficulty a devotee places before him. Tradition holds that wherever the Hanuman Chalisa is recited with sincerity, no harm can come. Families recite it before journeys. Students recite it before exams. Devotees recite it daily as a shield against fear. It is the most accessible, most powerful Hanuman prayer in existence."
Shree Mad Bhagawad Geeta Katha Path
"The Bhagavad Geeta is the most sacred philosophical text in the Hindu tradition. Upanayan Sanskar
"Upanayan is the sacred thread ceremony. It is one of the sixteen great sanskars of Hindu life. It marks a boy's start on the path of learning. The word means to lead the child near to the guru. On this day the boy first wears the janeu thread. The thread holds three strands of deep meaning. The rite gives him the sacred Gayatri Mantra. It is seen as a second birth into a learned life. The worship honours the Saptarishi, the seven sages. Vasant Panchami is a favoured day for this rite. Done in Kashi, the sanskar carries the highest merit."
Akshararambh Sanskar Puja
"Akshararambh marks a child's first lesson in letters. It is one of the sixteen sacred sanskars of Hindu life. The word means the start of learning the alphabet. It is the first step into the world of books. The rite seeks the grace of Mata Saraswati. She is the goddess of learning and clear thought. The child writes its first letter under her blessing. Often the letter is traced in rice or on a slate. The worship begins with Ganpati to clear all blocks. Vasant Panchami is a favoured day for this rite. Done in Kashi, the rite carries the highest merit."
Shravani Upkarm Puja
"Shravani Upkarm is an old Vedic rite of renewal. It falls on the full moon of the month of Shravan. On this day the sacred thread, the janeu, is changed. The old thread is set aside and a new one is worn. The rite honours the Saptarishi, the seven great sages. It is a day to thank them for the gift of the Vedas. The worship washes away the sins of the past year. It renews the seeker's vow to a clean and learned life. Bathing in the Ganga is a key part of the rite. It is most sacred when done on the Kashi ghats."
Navchandi Path and Yajna
"Navchandi Path & Yajna is one of the most elevated forms of Durga worship in the Vedic tradition. It combines the recitation of the Chandi Path (the seven hundred verses of the Devi Mahatmya) with the energy of a sacred Yajna. The Chandi Path alone is powerful. Performed with a Yajna, its force is multiplied. Each verse becomes an offering into the fire. Each offering rises directly to Maa Durga in all her nine forms."
Budh Dosh Nivaran Puja
"Budh is the youngest of the classical planets and the most quick-witted. The messenger of the cosmos. The deity of intellect, communication, learning, and skilled craft. He turns thought into words, and words into influence. When Budh shines strong, the devotee speaks with clarity and moves through ideas with ease. When his energy is afflicted, the gifts reverse.
