Soul Puja
Mahalay Shradh Puja
"Mahalay Shradh falls in the sacred fortnight of Pitru Paksha. Hindu tradition holds that the ancestors come down to earth then. They wait for their children to offer them food and water. To skip this duty is said to leave the forefathers hungry. Their rest depends on the care the family gives. This puja offers pind and tarpan to the departed. It honours them on their own death date within the fortnight. The grace of pleased ancestors then flows to the living. It brings peace, plenty, and joy to the home. Families have kept this duty for countless generations."
Departed Soul Puja
"This puja is for a soul that has just left the body. The first rites after death are the most important of all. They set the soul on its right path to the next world. Without them, the soul can wander and find no rest. Hindu tradition lays down a clear order for these rites. Kashi is held the holiest place on earth for them. Lord Shiva himself is said to free the soul that departs here. The rite gives the departed a calm and guided passage. It also brings comfort to the grieving family. The sacred cremation ghats of Kashi carry this prayer best."
Tripindi Shraddh Puja
"Tripindi Shraddh is a special rite from the shastras. It is meant for ancestors whose last rites were left undone. When a death goes without proper shraddh, the soul stays restless. This unrest can carry on for three generations. It then shows as Pitra Dosha in the family line. The dosha blocks marriage, children, health, and growth. Tripindi Shraddh settles the debt of all three generations at once. The word tripindi points to these three layers of ancestors. The rite gives them rest and lifts their grace upon the family. Kashi is held the best place on earth for this puja."
Gajendra Moksha Katha and Path
"Gajendra Moksha is one of the great tales of the Bhagavata. It tells of Gajendra, the king of elephants. A crocodile caught his leg in a lake and would not let go. Gajendra fought for years but could not break free. At last he gave up his pride and cried out to Vishnu. He held up a lotus and called the Lord with full faith. Vishnu came at once and freed him from the jaws. The tale teaches full surrender to the divine. This katha and path recite that sacred story. It brings patience, faith, and release from trouble. It frees the heart from fear and grants moksha."
Shradh Puja
"Shradh Puja is the ritual offering made to honour the ancestors on the lunar anniversary of their passing, or during the sacred fortnight of Pitra Paksha. The bond between the living and the ancestors is unbreakable in Hindu tradition. The family carries the memory, the prayers, and sometimes the unfinished wishes of those who came before. Shradh Puja is the moment the family remembers them with love, feeds them through ritual, and asks for their continued blessings to flow forward to the children and grandchildren still walking the earth."
Garun Puran Path
"The Garun Puran is one of the eighteen Mahapuranas of Hindu scripture. It was narrated by Lord Vishnu himself to Garud Dev. The gentle escort of souls on their journey beyond this world. The path is performed in the days between a loved one's passing and the thirteenth-day ritual, known as Terahvin. This is the period when the soul, in Hindu belief, makes its transition from this life to the next. The Garun Puran is a guidebook for the soul. It explains what the departed will encounter on the onward journey, and the path that leads to peace."
Pitra Dosh Nivaran Puja
"Pitra Dosh is an affliction passed down through the family lineage. It forms when the souls of departed ancestors have not received the rituals, prayers, or peace they were due. In Hindu tradition, the bond between the living and the ancestors is unbreakable. Every family carries within it the prayers and the unfulfilled wishes of those who came before. Sometimes also their lingering sorrows. When these remain unresolved across generations, they take the form of Pitra Dosh. A quiet shadow over the family's path. It is often felt as repeated obstacles in marriage, conception, education, and career, despite every effort. The dosh is not a curse. It is a calling. The ancestors are gently asking to be remembered, honoured, and finally released into peace."
Pind Daan
"Pind Daan is the offering made to a loved one who has passed away. The pind is a rice ball, mixed with sesame, milk, and ghee. Each one is shaped by hand and offered with prayer. Tradition holds that the soul cannot move forward until Pind Daan is done in their name. It is the family's last loving duty. Lord Ram himself performed Pind Daan for his father, King Dasharatha, at Gaya."
