Vedic Puja
Vasant Panchami Puja
"Vasant Panchami is the festival dedicated entirely to Maa Saraswati. The day falls in the bright fortnight of Magha, when spring begins. It marks the awakening of the earth itself, and the awakening of the mind in the devotee. Tradition holds that on this day, Saraswati Mata first emerged from Lord Brahma's mouth, bringing with her the gift of knowledge, music, and the arts. Schools, libraries, and homes across India worship her on this day, seeking the blessing of learning and creative inspiration."

Gau (Cow) Puja
"The cow is the most sacred animal in Hindu tradition. She is called Gau Mata, the mother cow. Tradition holds that all the gods reside within her body. Lord Brahma in her face. Lord Shiva in her forehead. Lord Vishnu in her shoulders. The Ganga, the Yamuna, and the Saraswati in her hooves. To touch a cow with devotion is to touch every deity at once. To offer her food and worship her is to honour the source of life itself, since the cow gives milk to humans and feeds the soil for every crop."
Shasthi Abda Poorti Puja
"Shasthi Abda Poorti is the ceremony performed when a person completes sixty years of life. The number sixty holds deep meaning in the Vedic calendar. It marks the completion of one full cycle of cosmic time. The person has lived through every combination of the five elements, the nine planets, and the lunar cycles. The ceremony honours this milestone. It is a moment of gratitude for the years lived, and a fresh blessing for the years ahead."
Departed Soul Puja
"This puja is for a soul that has just left the body. The first rites after death are the most important of all. They set the soul on its right path to the next world. Without them, the soul can wander and find no rest. Hindu tradition lays down a clear order for these rites. Kashi is held the holiest place on earth for them. Lord Shiva himself is said to free the soul that departs here. The rite gives the departed a calm and guided passage. It also brings comfort to the grieving family. The sacred cremation ghats of Kashi carry this prayer best."
Raksha Bandhan Puja
"Raksha Bandhan is the festival of sacred protection. The word raksha means "protection," and bandhan means "bond." On this day, sisters tie the sacred raksha thread on their brothers' wrists, asking the divine to keep them safe through the year ahead. Brothers, in return, vow to protect their sisters always. The bond is older than the festival itself. Tradition holds that even the gods have tied raksha threads. Indrani once tied one on Indra before his battle with Vritra, and he won."
Mahalay Shradh Puja
"Mahalay Shradh falls in the sacred fortnight of Pitru Paksha. Hindu tradition holds that the ancestors come down to earth then. They wait for their children to offer them food and water. To skip this duty is said to leave the forefathers hungry. Their rest depends on the care the family gives. This puja offers pind and tarpan to the departed. It honours them on their own death date within the fortnight. The grace of pleased ancestors then flows to the living. It brings peace, plenty, and joy to the home. Families have kept this duty for countless generations."
Parthiv Shivlinga Puja and Rudrabhishek
"A Parthiv Shivlinga is a Shivling shaped from sacred earth, prepared fresh for the puja. The tradition is one of the oldest in Hindu worship. Ancient texts hold that worshipping a Parthiv Shivling carries greater power than worshipping any permanent Shivling, because the very act of shaping the linga is itself a form of devotion. The earth is gathered. The form is made by hand. The Shivling stands only for the duration of the puja, then returns to the earth. This temporary, deeply personal Shivling carries Shiva's grace in its purest form."
Shiv Rudrabhishek Puja
"Shiv Rudrabhishek is one of the oldest forms of Shiva worship. The Shivling is bathed with eleven sacred substances. Milk for purity. Honey for sweetness. Curd for prosperity. Ganga jal to clear past karma. Then ghee, sugar, rose water, sandalwood paste, panchamrit, coconut water, and bhasma. Each one carries its own meaning."
Rudrabhishek Group Puja
"Rudrabhishek is the sacred bathing of the Shivling. It is one of the most loved of all Shiva worships. Rudra is the fierce and healing form of Lord Shiva. The shastras say this rite pleases him the most. The Shivling is bathed in milk, curd, honey, and water. Each pour is made with the chant of the Rudra mantras. The bath washes away sin and clears all trouble. It brings health, peace, and the grace of Shiva. This group puja joins many devotees in one worship. The shared prayer carries great strength. Devotees seek Shiva's blessing for a calm and full life."
Pipal Tree Puja
"The Pipal tree is the most sacred tree in Hindu tradition. The Bhagavad Geeta calls it the Ashwattha, the tree under which Lord Krishna himself stands. Tradition holds that the gods reside in different parts of the Pipal. Lord Vishnu lives in its trunk. Lord Brahma lives in its roots. Lord Shiva lives in its leaves. The tree is also the form in which Shani Dev is said to be most easily worshipped. Devotees circumambulate the Pipal seven times, tie sacred threads, and offer water at its roots. The tree is one of the few in the world that releases oxygen even at night. Hindu tradition has worshipped it for thousands of years."
New Year Group Puja
"The Vedic tradition never begins anything important without a sankalp, and no sankalp is larger than a whole year. This group puja takes that sankalp on the first day of the year, in Kashi. Ganesh Ji is worshipped first, as he must be, to clear the path of the twelve months ahead. Vishnu Ji is invoked to preserve and carry every undertaking. Lakshmi Mata is invoked for prosperity through the year. The Navagraha are pacified so that no planetary period turns a good year sour. The worship closes with the Panch Devta, the five deities of the Panchayatana tradition, Ganesh, Vishnu, Shiva, Devi, and Surya, whose combined presence leaves no direction unguarded."
